This was the first recording I was able to get playing. It was on an MX90 cassette with “test.” written in red marker on the sleeve. The recording may be an audio diary or radio broadcast that gets interrupted by audio anomalies and eventually decays into static. The transcript below was the only intelligible section, taken from the beginning of the tape.

on just a second, it seems like I may be having an issue with, [static] uh, the transmitter here. My signal is gone, no wait, yeah I’m being drowned out by [unintelligible, static]
like the boots finally found us [nervous laugh], or, now hang on, that is odd. [unintelligible, static] a burst of random noise. I don’t think they can do that, not intentionally. This is more like the aftermath of nuclear test [unintelligible] divider in ninety-two. [wailing]
