Session 5
As morning broke over the coastal highlands, the party woke to clearing skies and mild temperatures. Determinized to scout a path leading out of the mountains, Althea spotted a rocky pass that looked promising. The party soon found themselves in a maze of boulders and steep canyon walls. Grak attempted to scale a large pile of loose stones. Upon reaching the top he found his footing unstable as the stones rumbled and pulled together to form a Cairn Golem, launching the party into combat. They battled forward, fighting more golems and giant insects as they attempted to navigate the maze. Buckwheat, being clever, used her druidic power to transform into a jumping spider and climb the steep walls. Reaching the top, she was able to see a treasure room in the center of the maze. With her help, the party pushed through the stone hallways until they reached the room, finding a few magical items there in. Feeling safe, they decided to take a moment to catch their breath.
Session 6
The party rallied after their short break, healed as best they could, and pressed further into the maze-like mountain pass. It wasn’t long before they came to a wider clearing in the rocks. They were once again attacked by giant insects, but having learned to work together they quickly overcame their foes and pushed themselves forward, and out of the pass. As soon as the way forward began to slope down, they could see a road cutting through the valley beneath them. They pressed on, but no sooner had they reach the path then they were ambushed by cairn golems. The group was tired, and this fight was could have been the end of them if it were not for a duo of Buafiagal knights who arrived in the nick of time.
After the fight they explained that they came from a small Buaf camp further north along the road, and were trying to bring news of the great dragon back to Bas Cadoc. The party then rested, and woke feeling more powerful than they had before.
Session 7
Althea the fae wanderer, Grak the berserker, and Buckwheat the moon druid (and lest we forget Finnean, their young companion), broke camp early in the morning. The air was cold, and the dark clouds on the horizon indicated an approaching blizzard. The party searched for shelter in the shade of some nearby cliffs, finding a wind blocked cove to set an emergency camp. While camp was being made, Althea spotted a strange green light in the far distance to the north east, which quickly faded into the approaching storm. She also saw the glint of an object stuck 40 feet up on the nearby cliff, and the skeleton of an unfortunate climber underneath. Buckwheat became enamored with the object, and sent her raven familiar Zamioculcas to take a look. Zami flew to the item, and through her eyes Buckwheat saw a grappling hook tied to a magic rope. Before the party could develop a plan to retrieve the item, Grak had already climbed a quarter of the way up, before falling to the ground in a heap. He quickly rebounded, grabbed all of the parties rope, and made a rushed second attempt.
This time he managed to climb halfway before deciding to tie the ropes together while hanging from the cliff side. He climbed a further fifteen feet before managing to tie himself off to an outcrop on the cliff. He then lowered the rope to drag Buckwheat up to attempt to knock the magic rope down.
