Session 3
Deep underground in the crypt of Ronan the first insect lord lies the body of the great Hero, in a tomb he dug with his own hands. Or so the story goes. Upon inspecting the body on the ledger you found not a toad, but the corpse of a mouse. You scrambled out of the hole in ceiling and attempted to track the mysterious figure you saw tampering with the body. The tracks seemed to lead back to Dara Saol, but you were unable to discern who they belonged to on arrival. Finnean joined you for a meeting with Bas Cadoc, and was rebuffed after asking again to join the Buafiagal. Cadoc agreed to grant him membership if he could locate another long lost ancient hero. Cadoc did not seemed convinced that the body you found was Ronan, but agreed that the idol you found was certainly his. He gave you vouchers for magic items in town, access to his armory, and a promise to look for Gostibur in earnest and contact you when he has news. Finnean then asked for help locating the lost hero, once he had figured out where to start looking. You returned to the heap to find a small party being set up in your honor, but before joining the festivities you visited the beetesmith Higrit and learned of his ability to make stronger gear provided you can bring him advanced materials. You also meet Plumley, the proprietor of Peddler’s Press, where you traded the vouchers for three magic items. You then rejoined the party, where you meet the town elders, aided villagers, and won a few contests, endearing yourselves even further to the townsfolk. At the high point of the party, when all where toasting their new found traveling heroes, the muffled beating of feathery wings crept from the dark sky, and the screech of a massive owl pierced the night.
Session 4
A mass of scaley white feathers shimmers like ice before you. Then wings, three times its width reach out, and with a powerful burst of ice cold wind the beast lifts into the sky, its pounding feathers doing little to muffle the screams of its victim as it disappears into the northern sky. And as it does, the temperature plummets, snow begins fall. Winter has arrived in Treefall. A roc, or possibly dragon captured and killed a resident of the Heap, then flew north. Winter has come early, perhaps brought on the wings of the mighty beast. The party prepared themselves for a foray into the wilderness of the warrens. Once the home of the toads, the warrens is a wilderness filled with dangerous animals, caves, and magical secrets. Or so they’ve been told. So far on the hunt to find the wizard Gostibur, they have had a rather uneventful several days clambering amongst the rocky cliffs on the shores of Loch Loren.
